The Challenge

Bridging the gap between institutions and citizens

Family Centers are spaces for listening, support, and guidance throughout the different stages of family life, thanks to qualified professionals and services such as parenting counseling and educational workshops.

Often, what separates these centers from people is a gap made up of fragmented information that is difficult to find, analog processes, and many intermediary steps.

The Need That Emerged
Orchestrating and making the existing system accessible

The commissioning municipality entrusted service management to OPEN Group, a cooperative dedicated to the development and sustainability of the local area.

Through interviews with operators and a careful analysis of the processes, one truth became clear: the real challenge was activating those services. What was missing was an interface capable of making them accessible to citizens, simplifying both requests and delivery while reducing information gaps.

The Solution
Tangram: a direct point of contact between people, centers and services

Tangram takes shape as an ecosystem made up of two layers, connected to each other even though they speak different languages:
– on one side, the citizen app, which becomes a space where people can search for services, discover centers, book appointments, manage their journey, find their way through themed events, and involve other members of the household.
– on the other, a web app that gives operators control and visibility, structuring everything that was previously manual, such as data collection, access monitoring, and journey management.

Within the management system, a dashboard shows registered profiles and activated services. Everything that used to be invisible is now accessible and valuable, guiding every decision.

Close to people, always

The human element remains central: interaction takes place with a consultant or operator who guides the user through every meeting, building the journey together. Every requested service becomes one piece of the ongoing relationship between the person and the Family Center.

Do you have a similar challenge?

A people-centered approach is probably the real point of contact between Open Group and Humans.tech. We essentially worked on a project, one of our main business lines, focused on these Family Centers. […]

We needed to create technological frameworks that could make access easier, support increasingly complex bureaucratic processes, and improve data collection. That data helps us improve services, gives our users a clear point of reference, and above all supports public administrations.

A scalable nationwide model

Tangram was born in Emilia-Romagna, but it was not designed to stay there.
It is a modular, replicable system designed to connect people and different local areas while maintaining consistency and control.

We involved the OPEN Group team in every phase: from the initial discovery, with interviews with key stakeholders, through flow development, all the way to interface testing.

Constant interaction was the key to the project.
